Frozen in the ice for decades, Captain America is freed to battle against arch-criminal, The Red Skull.
During World War II, a brave, patriotic American Soldier undergoes experiments to become a new supersoldier, "Captain America." Racing to Germany to sabotage the rockets of Nazi baddie "Red Skull", Captain America winds up frozen until the 1990s. He reawakens to find that the Red Skull has changed identities and is now planning to kidnap the President of the United States.
Whilst I was a fan of Captain America as a child I can not say that I enjoyed either this film or the previous Captain America movie (made in the late 70&#39;s).<br/><br/>This film wasn&#39;t too bad and it did have it&#39;s moments but it just left you feeling dissatisfied once it finished.<br/><br/>There was not enough action in this film. There was action at the beginning and the end but the middle parts were very low on action. I think all good movies should have a plot but we need action as well.<br/><br/>The 1970&#39;s Captain America movies were better than this. The only reason I wasn&#39;t too keen on them was because they totally changed Captain America in them. His origin had changed, his costume was different, everything was different. Before I saw this film in the early 1990&#39;s I had high hopes. After watching this I felt really disappointed that the filmmakers had got it wrong again.<br/><br/>Some superheroes are badly portrayed on the big screen but only usually once. There are three Captain America films to my knowledge and whilst they are passable in their own ways they are not anything to get excited about.<br/><br/>I wouldn&#39;t recommend this film to any Captain America fans as they will probably be disappointed like me. Check out The Punisher (1990) starring Dolph Lungdren instead.
Yes! Another superhero film comes and goes! What I love about these kinds of films are that we have the hero. We have the villain. We have a damsel in distress. Heck, we even have a problem in the world, like a shortage of cows, or that we need help opening a nasty carton of milk! This movie, &quot;Captain America,&quot; does all of that. No, there isn&#39;t anything in this movie that has to do with cows or opening milk cartons or anything. However, there is the hero, Captain America, and the villain, The Red Skull, and so forth.<br/><br/>&quot;Captain America&quot; is a superhero movie that may not be as exciting as &quot;Spider-Man,&quot; but believe me, if you are lucky enough to find a copy (and they are extremely difficult to come by nowadays!), then you can watch this movie and see what all the buzz is about.

On Disc 2, this already seems to have happened which means it contains the actual Director&#39;s Cut: the image quality still sucks but it was at least improved a bit. As a result, some scenes look much better than they do on the first disc. The same goes for the introductory text box in the beginning. The two spelling mistakes from the Commentary Version on disc 1 have been corrected. A further introductory text is only available in this edited version. But more than that (and the actual reason for this comparison), there&#39;s an 11-minute-block of scenes in the middle of the movie which is missing in the Commentary Version on disc 1. This means, the entire footage exclusively in the Director&#39;s Cut is withheld because the differences in the beginning and end is nothing but recycled footage.
